- The Light of Life -
A gaunt figure, almost skeletal in the arms, is sitting in front of a kerosene lamp, gazing melancholically into the light with almost closed eyes. The reflection of the flame, which iconographically represents the soul, also bathes the face of the figure, who tries to embrace the flame protectively with her hands. An embryo-like figure rises above her head, which also fills her head, as if an unborn child were floating away, which at the same time remains permanently present as a thought.
